The North Shore Youth Development Centre will be a groundbreaking community-led response to the needs of North Shore youth and their families.

 

The Centre will provide a complete range of services with a vibrant village-like feel that will enrich and enliven the existing character of the Shore.


The aim is to provide a visionary wrap around facility to meet young people where they’re at and transform them in to tomorrow’s leaders. The North Shore Youthline Centre will provide tenancies to other innovative community agencies that complement the expertise and experience of Youthline.

 


Youthline Asset Development


Asset development is a key factor in our success. The ownership of facilities provides Youthline with financial security as well as being a ‘bricks and mortar’ sanctuary for hundreds of people every week.  It is from our buildings that Youthline can put itself ‘out there’ as a leading youth development organisation in New Zealand.  Youthline will be expanding its services in Manukau and the North Shore.


Youthline seeks to build up an asset base and generate income, which will enable us to become financially independent and help us to sustain activities in the long term. We recognize the importance of partnerships with local authorities, businesses, families and the wider public sector as being an essential element of the community development process.


NSYDC will be a thriving youth centre; well-managed, well-used and well-maintained. Youthline will be working in partnership with the council, the private and public sectors to ensure this building is a success. We welcome the opportunity to share some of these successes and opportunities with other groups and organisations on the North Shore.

 


Funding


Youthline is looking to raise approximately $1m to develop a large multi-purpose building. We are seeking support to find land or property that would be suitable for our needs. A full breakdown of costs is available on request.
