Youthline Loves to Zumba

Youthline’s Youth Development worker Trent Faliu is now a qualified Zumba instructor. Trent is based out at Youthline’s Manukau centre where he facilitates youth development groups and leads the Manukau Youth Advisory Group (YAG). Trent was asked to become a Zumba instructor when the opportunity arose during youth week this year.

The Youthline Manukau YAG decided to combine with the Youth Action Kommitte (YAK) group to throw a Zumba party for the young people in Manukau during youth week.

Trent has always loved Zumba so he was asked to be one of the facilitators for this event. Leading up to the Zumba party Trent attended an eight hour training session in Newmarket to gain his title as a Zumba instructor.

Since then Trent has run Zumba classes at the Youthline Alternative Education School and instructs classes at Otahuhu recreation centre for the community.

“I love Zumba, not only because of the exercise I get from it but also because I have so much time every time I do it!”, says Trent.
