Billy Apple Art For Youthline

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrint

Acclaimed artist Billy Apple is supporting Youthline with ART FOR YOUTHLINE consisting of 200 works laser etched on acrylic, with each piece featuring one of Youthline’s 11 centres throughout the country.

The acrylics are based on an original Billy Apple Painting, ART FOR YOUTHLINE NEW ZEALAND. Each measures 236.07mm x 145.90mm, 5.57% of the area of the painting.

This is a golden section ratio derived from the painting’s dimensions of 1,000mm x 618mm.

The signed acrylic pieces are available for sale at $182.50 each, which is a tax deductible donation to Youthline.

Due to their popularity and price the works have sold quickly, however a limited number of pieces featuring Youthline Auckland, Youthline Wellington and Youthline Central South Island are still available. The art works make great additions to any collection or as souvenirs for the regions they name.

Funds from the art works go towards training 200 new youth help line volunteers around the country, allowing them to be there for young people 24 hours of every day of the year. The number of pieces for each centre is based on the number of new volunteers needed in that particular region.

“We are honoured to be supported by such a well known artist and to have the opportunity to raise funds and build Youthline’s profile in such an exciting way,” says Youthline National Spokesperson Stephen Bell.

Stephen says the Youthline project has been an ongoing one and likens Billy Apple's commitment to the commitment needed to parent a teenager.

"It took a good four years with some very testing moments but the outcome is fantastic! "
