All entrants art work, as well as last years art winners and Youthline’s own alternative education school’s art works were show cased at RE:DEFINE an exhibition of youth art during April 30 to May 19 at Aotea THE EDGE®.

Art works ranged from pencil sketches, paintings, cuts outs, computer images, poems and photography.

Exhibition/competition organiser Grace Taylor explains “We want young people to tell us about their experience of being young, which is quite different to what adults or society may think.” This was evident in the different themes of each art work.“The art work was of such good quality.” The judges of 2007 art competition explained “it was so hard to decide who would win and who would be runners up.”With dozens of entries throughout New Zealand, competition winners were picked because their art works showed creativity, diversity and expressed what it meant to be a young person in Aotearoa.
